Dave Braun

Baritone

Picture of Dave Braun

As a youngster, Dave woke up most mornings to the sounds of his father practicing clarinet or saxophone, and therefore assumed he would someday become a musician. That happened at age 9, when he began playing euphonium, followed in later years by trombone and the occasional tuba. He went on to become the youngest member (at the time) of the acclaimed Wuerl Concert Band of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, performing with that ensemble for nine years. Other musical groups he has played with include The Elms Youth Band of Sheboygan, Sheboygan Municipal Band, Madison Municipal Band, Blackhawk Evangelical Church Brass Quintet, 1st Brigade Band, First United Methodist Church Blessed Brass, Waunakee Community Band, Waunakee Community Dance Band, Great Wolf Lodge Christmas Tubas, and Professor Stich’s Original Baraboo Circus Band.

A charter member of the Madison Brass Band baritone section, he has also served on the board of directors as treasurer since the band’s incorporation in 2004.

Having earned his Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from Lakeshore Techinical Institute, Dave works as a Biomedical Engineering Technician with UW Health in Madison. He resides in Lodi with fellow MBB musician, band teacher, and love of his life, Gina, and their 70-pound yellow lab ‘lap dog’ Angel.

PS to John Z: Do you know which Bohemian composer wrote the Rhapsody that Queen sings?? It wasn’t Fucik, was it???
